Roughly a third of our wedding bookings are now destination weddings, and Udaipur, Jaipur and Goa cover almost all of them. Each shoots completely differently, and the choice should factor in light and logistics as much as venue photos.
Udaipur — the most reliably photogenic, and the most expensive
Lake Pichola venues give you water, palaces and mountains in a single frame without trying. The trade-off is cost — City Palace-adjacent properties book up 12 months out for peak season, and boat logistics for the couple shoot need a full extra planning conversation with the venue.
Jaipur — better value, harder midday light
Jaipur's forts and havelis are extraordinary but sit in full sun for most of the day. We schedule couple portraits strictly for the two hours after sunrise or before sunset here — midday sessions at Amber Fort produce flat, harsh shadows no amount of editing fully rescues.
Goa — the most relaxed schedule, the most changeable weather
Beach and villa weddings in Goa run on a slower, more informal timeline than a Rajasthan palace wedding, which photographs as genuine relaxation rather than staged candour. Monsoon season (June–September) is a real risk — we build a covered backup plan into every Goa contract regardless of forecast.
What doesn't change wherever you choose
Our full crew travels together with backup camera bodies and our own lighting kit, because you cannot rent a replacement flash in Udaipur at 9pm. Travel and stay are billed at actuals and listed as a separate line on every destination quote.
A destination wedding photographs the location for free. What you're actually paying for is a crew that already knows where the light goes wrong.
