Nine Pre-Wedding Locations Within Four Hours of Delhi

Home / Blogs / Nine Pre-Wedding Locations Within Four Hours of Delhi

We've shot pre-wedding sessions at all nine of these, more than once each. This is the honest version — what a location actually costs to shoot at, when it looks its best, and what permission you actually need versus what you can get away with.

1. Neemrana Fort, Rajasthan (2.5 hrs)

Best at sunrise, before the day's tourist footfall arrives. Photography permits run separately from entry tickets — budget roughly ₹3,000–₹5,000 depending on crew size, and book at least a week ahead in wedding season.

2. Yamuna Khadar, Delhi (30 min)

Mustard fields from mid-January through February, right at the edge of the city. No formal permit required for a small crew, though carrying ID is sensible. Shoot early morning — the light through the mustard is unbeatable before 9am and flat by noon.

3. Lodhi Garden, Delhi (city centre)

Free entry, but professional shoots technically need a permit from the Archaeological Survey of India, and enforcement is inconsistent. We always apply anyway — the fine for being caught without one costs more than the permit itself.

4. Sultanpur National Park, Gurugram (1 hr)

Underused for pre-wedding shoots and genuinely lovely in winter migratory bird season (November–February). Entry and camera fees are modest, but tripods and reflectors may need separate clearance — check with the forest office directly the week of your shoot.

5. Damdama Lake, Gurugram (1.5 hrs)

A reliable golden-hour location with water reflections. No formal permit for casual shoots; a resort nearby offers paid access to a private stretch of shoreline if you want to avoid public crowds.

6. Kila Raipur / rural Punjab-style farmland, Greater Noida outskirts (45 min)

The back roads past Yamuna Expressway toward Jewar have genuinely photogenic farmland and almost nobody shoots there. No permit needed on public roads; ask permission if you want to shoot inside a specific field.

7. Chhatarpur farmhouse gardens, Delhi (45 min)

Many farmhouses rent out for pre-wedding shoots by the hour, separate from event bookings. Costs vary widely — ₹5,000–₹20,000 for a half-day slot — and give you controlled, private grounds without public interruption.

8. Sohna hills, Haryana (1.5 hrs)

Rocky Aravalli terrain that photographs completely differently from anything else on this list — good for couples wanting something visibly distinct from the standard palace or garden shoot.

9. Old Delhi lanes, near Jama Masjid (city centre)

Not for every couple, but extraordinary if yours wants texture and energy over polish. Requires a very light footprint — no reflectors, minimal crew, and genuine sensitivity to the working neighbourhood around you.

How we actually choose, with a couple

We shortlist three options within budget and travel radius, matched to the season you're shooting in — mustard fields are pointless in June, and Sultanpur's migratory birds are gone by March. Book the location before the outfit, not after.
